Developer Log #37: A "Sweet" Update


Gooood evenin lads!

After that week break, I've had a bit more time to work a bit more slowly on the first update for the demo: The Skills and the Strenghts Update!

Currently, there are a few changes I've worked onto, and I've been drawing up a few more contents and concepts I've wanted to flesh together for the main game.

Mainly, I've worked on a few QOL, including strength, rebalancing the stats, and including a secondary exp object to get more stats of a specific type!

In accordance to this image, training for your strength stats will now move this secondary exp bar up. Completing it will give you a random amount of stats for whichever type you're training for. I'm very glad I was able to complete this, and I still plan to tweak it so it looks a lil bit more interactive. 

This is also the same for the rest of the stat trainings. I've also considered making a few more obstacles and changes to make the training more fair and rewarding. I've also considered making a few changes to agility and crit. Especially with agility with more fair obstacles and fairer ways to obtain agility.

And then another dumb thing I've made (Per request from feedback), a way to have an indicator for buttons for your swords!

Honestly, it's really cute to me. The slider itself just looks like another kind of frame, but now the flicker is Heat's lil head. Heh, still made me chuckle as I found it about.

But yeah, that's about it. I've planned to continue tweaking this and defense, but the major plans are the obstacles for agility, and definitely for crit, because there's been a ton of feedback about how it feels... slow and kinda useless? Maybe need to make it more fun or entertaining to make it actually worth grinding. But not too good where it continues to be the ONLY thing to train for. I'll keep a look out.
